REVIEW Catch Seafood Restaurant, by Lulu Le Vay.
Out of all the eateries the Andaz Liverpool St Hotel boasts under its roof, seafood restaurant Catch is the most intimate. The dazzling white tablecloths and sparkling art deco interior of stained glass and candle-dripped chandeliers create the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, a sophisticated business lunch, or a special meal out for friends.

At Catch, the freshness of the space wafts amorously onto the plates, with an array of mouth-watering seafood dishes on offer. Colchester Rock oysters and South Devon dressed crab through to Octopus salad and steamed grey mullet is just a tantalising snippet of the fishy fancies on the menu.

But it's the classic dishes that are worth investigating. Winning starters are the towering mountain of a delicious prawn cocktail and the smoked salmon with potato pancakes & horseradish. Mains are the succulent smoked haddock & salmon fishcakes and the fried swordfish 'Milanese' with salsa verde - served with side dishes such as spinach gratin, creamed mash and good old mushy peas.

This classic menu with a modern twist is served up with equal classic service. The waiting staff are prompt and courteous, with an impressive knowledge of wines and champagnes. A Catch? Yes, it certainly is.
